Engineers are undoubtedly intelligent and exceptionally organized individuals. However, to ascend the professional ladder, they must hone their communication skills. Mastery in machine handling is commendable, but not sufficient for career advancement. Effective communication is pivotal in dealing with diverse groups like suppliers, customers, technicians, government officials, banks, subordinates, stakeholders, colleagues, bosses, and board directors. It’s the key to unlocking superior operational results and fostering successful relationships in any business environment. Focusing on machinery is not enough. I’ve seen may Engineers who missed the opportunity to be on the higher managerial side, because of lack of communication.
